Popular South African Rapper and Singer, Cassper Nyovest, was allegedly sued by his colleague, DJ Sumbody. The DJ sued him for R147,000 in unpaid royalties.

DJ Sumbody is suing Cassper Nyovest after the rapper denied him payments from their 2018 collaboration, ‘Remote Control’. The track, which was the 6th track of Cassper’s studio album, ‘Short and Sweet’, was used in a Samsung advert. The advert contract was reported to be worth R5 million.

In 2021, the two parties had reached a resolution after the issue was addressed at the Johannesburg High Court, but Cassper is yet to fulfill his end of the bargain. This was the reason why DJ Sumbody got a court order against him.

This allegation was made known by popular entertainment commentator, Musa Khawula, through his Twitter account. Cassper Nyovest is yet to respond to the allegations.

In other news, Cassper Nyovest declared P Square the best African performer of our time. He made the statement after a fan on Twitter praised Burna Boy’s performance. The tweet read:

“Nobody in Africa comes close to Burna Boy when it comes to stage performances!”

However, Cassper Nyovest didn’t share the tweeter’s belief. He countered the statement by tweeting that although, he would like to claim the title, he couldn’t. That was because he couldn’t outperform P Square. He went further by declaring the duo as the best African act of this time. Check out the tweet below:
