Nigerian Artist, Slimcase Reveals Why Many Wizkid Collaborations Remain Unreleased
Nigerian artist Slimcase has shed light on the mystery surrounding the unreleased collaborations between Wizkid and other musicians in the country.
According to Slimcase, Wizkid’s meticulous approach to music leads him to scrutinize songs extensively before releasing them to the public.
In a recent interview with Naija FM in Lagos, Slimcase disclosed that Wizkid listens to songs about 50 times to ensure they meet his standards before deciding to drop them. This meticulous process, he explained, often results in collaborations with Wizkid remaining unheard by the public.
“When you make music with Wizkid, he will let you do your thing without any scrutiny, then in your absence, he can listen to the song like 50 times to know if the song meets his standard. That is why you see artists in the studio with Wizkid and the song never drops,” Slimcase stated.
Slimcase himself collaborated with Wizkid on the track ‘Gucci Snake’ in 2018, an experience that likely provided insights into Wizkid’s approach to music collaboration.
The revelation by Slimcase comes amidst recent criticism leveled against Wizkid by singer BNXN, who accused the superstar of hoarding collaborations with young artists. BNXN lamented that despite working with Wizkid, many of the songs have never seen the light of day beyond the studio.
Wizkid’s discerning approach to music underscores his commitment to maintaining a high standard of quality in his releases, contributing to his status as one of Nigeria’s most influential and respected musicians.
