Ckay’s Love Nwantiti Surpasses 1 Billion Streams On Spotify

Ckay’s “Love Nwantiti” has officially surpassed the one billion streaming mark across all the versions, on Spotify.

The original song was released in 2019 as the second track from his second EP, ‘Ckay the First’.

The remix which was released in 2020, featured Nigerian superstar, Joeboy and Ghanaian singer, Kuami Eugene, became a huge commercial success.  It was listened to across all continents, which led to it having five additional remixes, all of which were mega hits.

Love Nwantiti made its debut on the Billboard Top 100 and the Billboard Global 200 becoming the second afrobeat song to achieve this feat after Essence by Wizkid

However, it topped the charts in over 150 countries and is certified triple platinum in Canada and Portugal, platinum in United Kingdom, United States, Italy, New Zealand, Australia, Poland, Austria and Gold in Denmark, Spain and Germany.

The song was nominated for Best Collaboration of the Year at the 2020 City People Music Awards and Best International Song at the 2022 Brit Awards

The music video has garnered over 250 million views on YouTube becoming the most viewed music video by an African artist. A performance video was also released in 2020 for the acoustic version and has since garnered over 130 million views on the video streaming platform

The melodic song has not stopped making waves since its released and has finally achieved this feat. The song becomes the most streamed Africa song

Much credit should be shown to the social media platform, TikTok for helping push the sensational song beyond the borders of Africa as the song was the soundtrack to over three million TikTok videos.
