Burna Boy, 2Baba and Teni Receive National Honors
On the 11th of October, 2022, Nigerians watched in awe as President Muhammadu Buhari conferred national honors upon three talented artistes as well as 444 other people.
Grammy-award-winning artiste, Burna Boy, was given the award of the Member of the Federal Republic, MFR, while Teni and 2Baba were decorated with the honors of Member of the Order of the Niger, MON.
The honors were given to recognize their outstanding services to the betterment of the country through music.

President Muhammadu Buhari acknowledged and appreciated their contributions to national development with a few words. A statement released by the president read:
“Worthy of mention are our artistes, particularly, our very own Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu (Burna Boy), who won the Grammy Awards in 2020.
He along with other artistes have repositioned the Nigerian entertainment industry and placed it on the global map.
At the just concluded Dubai Expo 2020, Nigeria’s pavilion was a beehive of activities as our musicians entertained guests from around the world.”
The annual ceremony was held at the Government House Villa in Aso Rock.
