Malaika Gray ‘My Fever’ Ft Marioo: Debut Single Out Now
A new voice just joined the Bongo Flava conversation, and she brings a South African upbringing with her. Malaika Gray released her debut single, My Fever, on Friday, October 30, 2026. Tanzanian star Marioo features on the record, and AfrobeatsGlobal has the details.
Malaika Gray My Fever: What We Know
My Fever is a love song that blends Afrobeats, Bongo Flava, and R&B. Malaika wrote it with Marioo, and Abbah Process produced it. The pair wrote and recorded the song in Tanzania, and Malaika has said she wanted it to sound like Dar. The single is out on all major platforms through Africori, a Warner Music Group imprint.
Who Is Malaika Gray?
Born in Australia and raised between South Africa and Tanzania, Malaika carries both regions in her sound. She also studies vocal performance and music business at Berklee College of Music in Boston. My Fever is her first release, and it blends those worlds into one record.
The My Fever Video Takes You Around Dar es Salaam
Joma the Indian Ocean directed the video, and the crew shot it over two days in Dar es Salaam. Instead of studio sets, they filmed in markets, salons, and streets, with daladalas and the city’s minibus taxis in frame. Marioo appears in the visuals, and the video went live across both artists’ channels.
What Marioo Said and What Comes Next
Marioo kept his message simple. “Malaika has a real talent, and it was a pleasure to be part of her first record,” he said, adding that he looks forward to making more music with her. Meanwhile, he released his nine-track album MMMCXII on May 29, 2026, so the feature adds to a busy year. Malaika has more collaborations across East and Southern Africa planned through 2027.
