Odumodublvck Drops ‘Industry Machine’ Album with Wizkid, Davido Features

Odumodublvck has officially released his Industry Machine album, and it is sending waves across the music industry. Not only does this project signify a bold release, but it also signals a shift in the narrative of Nigerian rap. The 23-track album holds no punches by featuring heavyweight features and experimenting with blends of sound appealing to local and international audiences.

Produced primarily by Telz, P.Priime, and Ucee, the buzz over Industry Machine was built up over months. Odumodublvck began with the line “The Machine Is Coming”, followed it up with a mixtape titled “The Machine Is Coming,” dropped loose singles such as “2:02 PM in London (Freestyle)” that trended, and then introduced singles “Pay Me” and “Industry Machine” before the big unveiling. He also unveiled the album cover (designed by Slawn) and tracklist before its release.

Davido and Wizkid share consecutive positions on the album’s tracklist, an unusual combination within Nigeria’s music industry. Davido collaborated with him on “Grooving,” while Wizkid joined him on “Big Time”. This is simply a strategic move, and it is working for Odumodu because fans and critics alike can’t stop talking about their faves.

Beyond Wizkid and Davido, the song also features global acts. UK veterans such as Skepta and Giggs infused a level of toughness into the album, while Stormzy and Saweetie also contributed to its strong global recognition. Nigerian veterans like Chike, Phyno, Modenine, Reminisce, and new entrants complete the list, bringing diverse styles.

According to Odumodublvck, producing this album pushed him to his limits. He forced himself to go into production, merging melody and pure lyricism, which anyone would testify to after listening to the “Industry Machine” track. This fuses his own Okporoko rhythm over mid-tempo beats. Odumodu also co-produced other tracks in the album, working with Mizzle and Juno for supporting vocals.

It’s no surprise that the album’s reception was positive and immediate. Within hours, it climbed to No. 1 on Apple Music Nigeria’s Top Album chart. Meanwhile, Big Time (featuring Wizkid) debuted inside the Top 10 on Apple’s Top Songs chart thanks to its energy and lyrical punch. All that aside, the album is a milestone in Odumodublvck’s career.

This is not technically his sophomore, but it feels like one: cementing his coming-of-age. His 2023 album Eziokwu placed him in the spotlight. With the “Industry Machine” album, Odumodublvck makes a bold declaration to the industry. If you’ve listened to Industry Machine, comment below your favorite track. Yet to listen? Get started below:
