South African pop star Tyla is riding high after her triumphant night at the 2026 Grammy Awards and she is not slowing down. Fresh off winning Best African Music Performance for her hit single “Push 2 Start,” the global sensation has officially confirmed the title of her highly anticipated second studio album and teased new music for fans.
Backstage at the Grammys in Los Angeles, Tyla surprised reporters with the announcement.
“I just want to announce something,” she said. “My sophomore album is coming out this summer, and it’s called A-POP.”
The 24 year old artist did not reveal the full tracklist or release date, but she promised that new music is on the way very soon. Known for blending pop, R&B and amapiano into a sound many fans call “popiano,” Tyla says the new project reflects her growth both personally and artistically.
“It’s going to feel different,” she explained. “It’s not a new me, just more of who I am now. I was 21, 22 before. Now at 24, I really feel like a woman, with more to say and new energy to bring. I’m so excited.”
Adding to the excitement, fans recently noticed a hidden clue about the album title in the visuals for her number one Afrobeats smash “Chanel.” Around 52 seconds into the video, the words “A-POP” briefly appear, confirming long running speculation about the project’s name.
To celebrate her Grammy win, Tyla took to social media on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, where she shared a new video featuring a short snippet of an unreleased song from the upcoming album. The preview has already sparked massive buzz online, with fans praising the sound and eagerly awaiting more.
“It’s going to be crazy,” Tyla added, referring to the album that is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
With a second Grammy in hand and a new era on the way, Tyla is proving that her global takeover is only just beginning.
