Lagos Police spokesman slams singer, Ayo Maff over ‘indecent’ lyrics
Upcoming singer Ayo Maff has been slammed by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the PRO of Lagos Police over the lyrics of his latest song “Last Week.”
The Lagos State police command described the lyrics of the song as “indecent”.
The singer boasted in the first line of the song about taking Canadian Loud, an imported pot strain that is strong and imported, on the first day of the week and telling his dealer that he ran out of the drug on Saturday.
SP Hundeyin voiced concerns about the lyrics in response to a widely shared clip of the song on X.
He said that if drug abusers hadn’t taken up the habit, half of the young people detained today wouldn’t be there.
He said that using illegal drugs can lead to criminal activity.
The PPRO wrote, “He does what on Mondays and Saturdays? Help me listen.
“Like Asa said, there is fire on the mountain and nobody seems to be on the run…
“Fact: Half of the young ones in prison today wouldn’t be there if they didn’t do drugs. Drugs is a precursor to everything bad.
“Eni a wi fun…”
