He disclosed that despite being booked for performances fetching sums upwards of N1 million, he was only receiving a meager N50,000 from D’banj, one of MoHits Records’ co-founders.

The situation took a dramatic turn when Ikechukwu confronted D’banj about the glaring discrepancy in his compensation. Allegedly, after consulting with his influential mother, D’banj agreed to raise Ikechukwu’s compensation to N150,000 per performance.

However, even with this increase, questions linger about the adequacy of the compensation relative to the revenue generated from Ikechukwu’s bookings.

The Influence of D’banj’s Mother

Ikechukwu’s revelations also shed light on the matriarchal influence within MoHits Records, particularly wielded by D’banj’s mother. He suggested that decisions within the label often required her approval, indicating her significant role in shaping the direction of the company.
