Ghanaian Afua Asantewaa Sets To Break 105-Hour Singathon Guinness World Record With 117-Hour
The excitement of Guinness World Records that swept through Nigeria a few months ago has now landed in Ghana, as Afua Asantewaa Aduonum sets her sights on breaking a singathon record.
Afua, a broadcast journalist and Women Empowerment Advocate, has received approval from the global record company to attempt breaking the record for the longest singathon by an individual.
Her ambitious goal is to set a new record, aiming for a minimum of 117 hours and a maximum of 120 hours.
The current record holder is Sunil Waghmare from India, who sang for an impressive 105 hours from March 3rd to 7th, 2012.
In a similar vein, Nigeria’s Hilda Baci gained fame for breaking a cookathon record a month ago, although she has since been surpassed by an Irish chef.
Nigeria made a triumphant return to the record books when Helen Williams crafted a wig stretching an astounding 351.28 meters (1,152 feet 5 inches).
The creation of this hairpiece took 11 days and cost two million naira (£2,000: $2,500).
It involved using 1,000 bundles of hair, 12 cans of hair spray, 35 tubes of hair glue, and 6,250 hair clips.
