Last year, popular Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter, Burna Boy, won the award for Best Global Music Album with his critically acclaimed and commercially successful album, Twice As Tall after losing out to Angelique Kidjo the previous year. Wizkid also bagged a Grammy for his collaboration with Beyoncé on Brown Skin Girl. These wins are a huge deal for the Nigerian music industry and Africa at large.
