Gospel singer Bola Adebola recently appeared as a guest on the Afrobeats Global Artist Spotlight Show, where she opened up about her music journey, faith, challenges, and plans for her upcoming album.
During her conversation with host Omobolanle Adigun, Bola Adebola shared how her love for singing started at a young age and the experiences that eventually helped her discover her calling in music. From singing in church to preparing for an album, her story is one of faith, resilience, and trusting the process.
Bola Adebola revealed that she started singing when she was just six years old. However, her journey into gospel music developed later in life after a difficult period following the loss of her father. She explained that life became challenging for her family, and her mother began taking her to church during that period.
It was through those experiences that Bola developed a deeper interest in singing. Seeing people sing and minister in church inspired her to join the choir, where she gradually discovered her own gift. What started as something she simply enjoyed eventually became a significant part of her life and, later, her calling.
Although she had been singing for years, Bola Adebola considers 2021 the beginning of her professional music journey. For her, the transition was not simply about becoming a professional singer but about understanding the purpose behind the gift she had carried from childhood.

While discussing her journey, Bola Adebola explained that 2021 was a major turning point in her life. She said that although she had been going to church, attending church was different from having a personal encounter with Christ.
According to the singer, her encounter with Christ brought significant changes to her life, including her outlook, appearance, culture, and priorities. More importantly, it changed the way she viewed her musical gift and gave her a stronger sense of purpose.
Before that period, she had released or performed songs without the same level of passion and direction. After 2021, however, she said the inspiration to make music came differently. She began to see her music as something connected to the work she believed God had called her to do.
For Bola Adebola, music was not simply a career choice. She believes God was responsible for leading her into the journey and giving her the inspiration to take her gift beyond the church.
Like many artists finding their voice, Bola Adebola said her journey was not without challenges. She recalled experiencing difficult situations after joining the choir, particularly when she was given opportunities to lead.
According to her, there were times when other choir members did not give her the support she expected. Instead of allowing those experiences to discourage her, she continued to sing and minister, even when she sometimes had to carry the performance herself.
Her persistence eventually began to pay off. As the songs became more interesting to listeners and some of her performances started gaining attention, she noticed that the people around her became more supportive.
Her experience is a reminder that talent does not always receive immediate recognition, but consistency can create its own momentum.
Although Bola Adebola believes her journey is guided by God, she also acknowledged the people who have supported her along the way. She identified her pastor as one of the key people who encouraged her to pursue her musical calling.
Her husband has also played an important role in her journey. Bola Adebola, who is married and has two children, described him as supportive and encouraging as she continues to develop her music career alongside her family.
She also shared the story of another person who unexpectedly became a source of support. After Bola Adebola went to minister at a church and a video from the ministration was posted on social media, someone came across the performance and reached out to offer her support.
Interestingly, Bola said this happened after she had received an encouragement that someone would eventually help her, even though she had no idea where that help would come from. When the opportunity arrived, she was contacted and told that conversations had already been held with people who wanted to support her, leading to rehearsals and new opportunities that helped boost her music journey.

One of the biggest talking points from Bola Adebola’s appearance on the Afrobeats Global Artist Spotlight Show was her upcoming album.
When asked what fans should expect from the project, the singer said listeners should expect more of God, His presence, and His hand. She explained that she believes God’s presence will be evident throughout the project, from beginning to end.
During the interview, Bola Adebola also gave viewers a taste of her sound by singing one of the songs from the upcoming album. As a Yoruba singer, she explained that her songs are performed in Yoruba, giving listeners an opportunity to experience the language and sound that shape her artistry.
With the album in the works, Bola Adebola is preparing to introduce more listeners to her music and ministry while continuing to build her identity as an artist.

Beyond her upcoming album, Bola Adebola was also asked about the bigger vision for her brand. Rather than outlining a specific long-term plan, she said she is leaving the direction of the brand in the hands of God, whom she believes called her to the work.
The singer also addressed the challenge of balancing a growing music career with her responsibilities as a wife and mother. With her family remaining an important part of her life, she acknowledged that her career may become bigger and require more of her time.
However, she expressed confidence in the support of her husband and her belief that God will help her find the right balance between her family and her music career.

Bola Adebola also addressed whether she monetizes her music and church ministrations. She explained that when she is invited to churches to minister, she is willing to go without demanding payment.
According to her, if a church gives her an offering or appreciation after she ministers, she accepts it. However, she does not ask for payment if none is offered. For Bola Adebola, the focus remains on the ministry itself and the purpose she believes God has given her.
Before the interview came to an end, Bola Adebola shared a message for viewers facing difficult seasons in their own lives. She encouraged people not to give up, regardless of the challenges they may encounter.
Her message centered on trusting God’s promises and continuing to believe even when the expected outcome seems far away. She maintained that when God promises something, He will fulfill it, encouraging people to hold on to their faith even when they least expect a breakthrough.
The message reflected the same belief that has shaped her own journey, from discovering her voice as a young girl to building a career around the music she believes she was called to make.

Fans, churches, and anyone interested in inviting Bola Adebola to minister can connect with her across her social media platforms. She is available on:
Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube as Bola Adebola, while her Facebook account is under the name Ademoye Adebola.
As she prepares for the release of her upcoming album, Bola Adebola continues to share music inspired by her faith and personal experiences while building a wider audience for her sound.
Her appearance on the Afrobeats Global Artist Spotlight Show gave viewers a closer look at the woman behind the music, the experiences that shaped her, the people who have supported her, and what listeners can expect from her next chapter.
