Tyla Drops Is It Love Ahead Of New Album A*POP

Tyla’s new single Is It Love previews her upcoming album A*POP, blending dance production with raw emotional lyrics. South African star Tyla has released her new single, Is It Love. The Tyla Is It Love single marks the third preview from her upcoming album, APOP. AfrobeatsGlobal has tracked every step of this rollout since Chanel* first dropped. Notably, this track leans further into vulnerability than her earlier singles.

The song pairs dance-ready production with introspective lyrics. Tyla explores love, vulnerability, and emotional connection across the track. Meanwhile, director Aerin Moreno built a music video around a relationship falling apart. Glass shatters and water floods the apartment as the choreography unfolds around her.

This single follows She Did It Again with Zara Larsson and the earlier hit Chanel. Both tracks have been building anticipation for APOP for months now. According to Tyla*, the album finally captures something authentically hers. She told Rolling Stone the project simply fell into place as she lived through making it.

Tyla’s Massive Year Keeps Growing

This release lands during an incredibly busy stretch for her. Tyla recently won her second Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance. Additionally, she picked up two American Music Awards, including Best Afrobeats Artist. Her name now appears across multiple categories at the 2026 BET Awards too.

She has also stayed busy beyond music entirely. Tyla performed at the FIFA World Cup opening festivities in Mexico City this year. Furthermore, she joined Future on the official World Cup anthem during celebrations in Los Angeles. Her summer calendar already includes Afro Nation Portugal and the Montreux Jazz Festival.

AfrobeatsGlobal will keep tracking every update as APOP* nears release. Tyla continues cementing her place among Africa’s most dominant global exports right now. Therefore, expect this single to stay in heavy rotation for weeks to come.
