Ayra Starr’s name has been on the lips of everyone, since the release of The 2022 Headies Awards nominations. The Mavin princess has a total of 8 nominations in her first ever Headies Awards. They are:

This achievement has projected her as one of the leading female Afrobeats artiste, and fans have been congratulating her on social media. However, some people have expressed their disbelief over her numerous nominations. Most of them have taken to Twitter to accuse Mavin CEO, Don Jazzy, of buying the nominations for Ayra Starr. They felt that although Ayra Starr was a talented musician, she didn’t deserve to be on some of the nomination categories.

During the arguments on Twitter, someone defended Don Jazzy by writing that the concept of Don Jazzy buying Headies nominations was dumb. The twitter user further asked why Don Jazzy would buy nominations without including “Female Artist Of The Year” for Ayra Starr or “Song Of The Year” for “Feeling” by Ladipoe and BNXN. On his Twitter account, Don Jazzy reacted to the person’s wisdom by writing,
