Tems Bags First Oscar Nomination For Best Original Song “Lift Me Up”
Nigerian singer and songwriter, Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems, has been nominated for an Oscar in the Best Original Song category.
She makes history as she becomes the first Nigerian to be nominated at the Oscars Awards with a “Best Original Song” nomination for “Lift Me Up”

Tems and Ludwig Göransson wrote the song “Lift Me Up,” which was the lead single from the soundtrack album for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Rihanna, Ryan Coogler, and other writers also contributed to the song’s composition.
