Ever since Rihanna announced the upcoming launch of her popular skincare brands, Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin, in some African countries, her African fans have been eagerly awaiting the move. Therefore, when the skin scare brands were finally launched, fans and celebrities trooped out in droves to attend the events.

Seeing an opportunity to dive into Africa’s growing beauty industry, Rihanna targeted the major beauty and fashion hubs of Africa. She announced the move in a tweet and also expressed her excitement, writing that she had been waiting for the moment.

On the 27th of May, just few days after giving birth to her first child, Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin were finally launched in eight African countries – Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Launches were graced by African artistes, actors and social media influencers, who were reportedly allowed to sample the products at the event.
