Asake Forgiveness Tops Apple Music Africa Now Playlist

Asake Forgiveness Tops Apple Music Africa Now Playlist

Asake just did it again, and Afrobeats fans are shouting about it! The Nigerian star now leads the Africa Now playlist on Apple Music for Best of 2026. His song “Forgiveness” took the No. 1 spot.

AfrobeatsGlobal has watched this record climb for months. In fact, “Forgiveness” arrived on 1 May 2026 as part of M$NEY, Asake’s fourth studio album. Since then, the song has refused to slow down.

Why Asake Leads the Africa Now Playlist

However, this win did not come out of nowhere. “Forgiveness” also reached No. 1 on the official Nigeria Top 100 chart. Furthermore, it became his fourth number one single of 2026 after only five months.

That pace set a record for the fastest four number one singles in one year. In addition, the song pulled in 5.51 million on demand streams to claim the top spot.

Also, this is a different kind of Asake record. Instead of loud street energy, it leans into humility and reflection. Moreover, it opens with a string solo before the emotion settles in.

In the song, Asake asks for forgiveness and promises to use his gift well. As a result, fans see a more mature side of the star.

Who Else Made the Africa Now Playlist Top Five

Meanwhile, the rest of the top five reads like a roll call of 2026 favorites. Victony’s “SLICK” follows at No. 2. Next, TxC and Davido’s “Nakupenda” sit at No. 3.

Then BNXN and Sarz’s “Back Outside” holds No. 4. Finally, Wizkid’s “MONEY CONSTANT” completes the top five at No. 5. Notably, Afrobeats and Amapiano share the spotlight.

What is the Africa Now Playlist Win Means for Afrobeats

Apple Music built the Africa Now playlist to spotlight sounds from Lagos, Johannesburg, Accra, and beyond. Therefore, a No. 1 placement carries real weight with listeners worldwide.

In addition, “Forgiveness” already topped weekly Apple Music charts in Ghana, Kenya, and Benin during July 2026. Furthermore, Asake placed six songs in the Benin top ten in September, including the top three.

Clearly, listeners across West and East Africa are streaming him heavily. That is exactly the kind of pan-African reach AfrobeatsGlobal loves to celebrate.
