The show marked the official live premiere of Oriade, Davido‘s sixth studio album. Fans got the rare chance to hear the full project performed on stage before it reaches wider audiences on tour.

The album itself dropped on July 31, 2026, a date chosen deliberately to mark exactly fifteen years since Davido launched his professional music career. It is a moment he has clearly wanted to celebrate in style.

What “Oriade” Means And Why It Matters

The title Oriade comes from the Yoruba words for “destiny” and “crown,” translating loosely to the crowned head. It reflects a project that Davido has described as a return to his original high-energy African sound.

The thirteen-track album is his shortest to date and follows his 2025 hit project 5ive, which charted on the Billboard World Albums chart. Lead single I Know Who I Be, featuring South African producers Jazzwrld and GL Ceejay, gave fans the first real preview of where the album was headed.
