Tems And Ayra Starr Join Afro Plus Fest 2026
Tems and Ayra Starr are officially joining one of the biggest Afrobeats festivals in North America. Organizers confirmed both Nigerian superstars as headliners for Afro Plus Fest 2026, adding even more star power to a bill that already features Wizkid, Davido, and Alkaline. Tems Ayra Starr Afro Plus Fest: Dates And Location
The festival returns for its second edition from September 4 to 6, 2026, running across Labor Day weekend at the Northwest Stadium Complex in Landover, Maryland. After selling out its debut one-day event at RFK Festival Grounds, the festival organizers decided to expand into a full three-day celebration this year.
Founder Michael Awosanya explained that today’s fans want music without borders. He noted that Afrobeats, dancehall, and hip hop no longer need separate lanes, since audiences already blend these sounds in their own playlists. As a result, placing Tems and Ayra Starr on the main stage felt like the obvious next step for the festival’s growth.
A Stacked Lineup Beyond The Headliners
Beyond the two Nigerian stars, the lineup includes Lil Baby, Latto, Chief Keef, Sexyy Red, Tiwa Savage, Olamide, Adekunle Gold, Sarkodie, Ruger, Victony, Odeal, and Young Jonn. Additionally, organizers say the event will spotlight Black-owned businesses, food vendors, fashion, and art tied to the African diaspora.
Ayra Starr’s appearance also arrives at an important moment, since she is preparing to drop her third studio album, Starr Girl, just weeks before the festival gates open. Meanwhile, last year’s debut pulled in roughly 20,000 fans, and organizers expect that number to climb significantly with this expanded lineup.
