Tems And Other Afrobeats Artists Lead The SoundTrack for Children Of Blood And Bone
Nigerian music just landed a major seat at Hollywood’s table. The Children of Blood and Bone soundtrack is being led by Tems, marking her debut as an executive producer. AfrobeatsGlobal has been following the announcement, and the lineup behind this Paramount Pictures adaptation reads like a who’s who of Afrobeats talent.
Tems Makes History Behind The Scenes

Tems has been named executive music producer and curator for the film’s official soundtrack, becoming the first woman to executive produce a soundtrack of this scale. Beyond overseeing the project’s direction, she also contributed three brand new original songs. Director Gina Prince-Bythewood revealed the news at a trailer launch event in New York, explaining that Tems’ music shaped much of her creative process while writing the film.
Burna Boy Joins As Music Consultant

Burna Boy joins the project as executive music consultant, working closely with Tems to help shape the soundtrack’s overall sound. According to the director, his track Alone played a real role in influencing the film’s early creative direction. Pairing two of Nigeria’s biggest global exports on one project adds serious weight to its musical identity.
Fireboy, BNXN And Ayra Starr Round Out The Cast

Fireboy DML and BNXN both feature on the soundtrack, adding further Afrobeats depth to the project. Meanwhile, Ayra Starr brings a double contribution, appearing on the soundtrack while also making her acting debut in the film itself. Her collaboration with Wizkid, Gimme Dat, already offers an early preview of the soundtrack’s sound. Composer Terence Blanchard also joins the project, blending traditional orchestral scoring with African instrumentation.
Why This Moment Matters
Based on Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel, Children of Blood and Bone follows Zélie Adebola on a dangerous mission to restore magic stolen from her people. With this level of Nigerian star power behind its music, the film’s global reach only stands to grow further. It also marks another major milestone for Afrobeats’ expanding presence in Hollywood, set for release on January 15, 2027.
