Nigerian Singer Portable Granted Bail After Federal High Court Detention | Now Known as “Innocenti”
Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been released on bail after spending several days in police custody.
Portable, has regained his freedom after spending a week in prison. The singer was released on Monday January 19 2026, after meeting his bail condition. Speaking in a now trending video on social media, Portable said “they lied against me. I’m innocent.”
Portable was arraigned at the Federal High Court in Ota, Ogun State, on January 12, 2026, facing a nine-count criminal charge filed by the Ogun State Police Command. The allegations against the singer include assault, theft, and obstruction of law enforcement officers.

Charges Against Portable
According to court documents, Portable is accused of:

Assaulting multiple individuals, including his estranged partner Ashabi Simple

Allegedly stealing a Mercedes-Benz E300 valued at ₦12 million, belonging to Ileyemi Damilola

Resisting arrest and obstructing a female police officer, Inspector Ogungbe Olayemi, during official duties
During his first court appearance, bail was denied due to the absence of the allegedly assaulted officer, and he was remanded in custody. A follow-up bail hearing was scheduled for January 19, 2026.
Portable Granted Bail and Adopts New Moniker “Innocenti”
Following the January 19 hearing, Portable was granted bail. Online footage shows him and his associates celebrating his release with visible joy.
In an Instagram post, Baby Luv, Portable’s manager, shared a photo of the singer with his first wife Bewaji while appreciating her for standing by him during his legal troubles.
“All glory to God. Grace spoke, mercy prevailed. #Freedom. She stayed when it was hardest. God honoured her faith #Thankful,” she wrote.

Since regaining his freedom, Portable has also embraced a new stage name, “Innocenti,” signaling a fresh chapter in his career after the recent legal proceedings.
The release has sparked conversations across Nigerian social media, with fans and industry observers weighing in on his future activities under the new moniker.
