Singer Tems Becomes The First Nigerian Artiste To Debut At No. 1 On Billboard Hot 100

It’s official! Our very own Afrobeats queen, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has just set a new record. The Try me crooner has become the first Nigerian Artiste to debut at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100.

She achieved this amazing feat with her feature on Future’s Wait For You. The track, which also features Drake, is one of Future’s three songs, off his new LP I Never Liked You, which is currently on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.

This is not the first time Terms would be on the Billboard Top 10. In 2020, her collaboration with Wizkid,  Essence, made history, when Wizkid became the first African artiste to be the lead artiste in a song on the Top 10 Billboard Chart.

Wait For You is Drake’s 10th, Future’s 2nd and Tems’ 1st Hot 100 lead single.
