Simi Becomes First Female Artiste To Join The Golden Club On Boomplay
Beloved and talented Nigerian singer, Simi, has just joined the Golden club and set a record at the same time. She has become the first female artiste to hit a whooping 100 million streams on Boomplay.
Her fifth studio album, ‘To Be Honest (TBH), bought her the ticket to join the prestigious Golden club. Nigerian artistes who have achieved a similar feat are Burna Boy, Davido, Fireboy DML, Joeboy, Omah Lay and Wizkid. Simi is the first female artiste to join the club.

Speaking on the record breaking achievement, Tosin Sorinola, Boomplay’s Director of Artiste and Media Relations said,
“As and organization, we will continue to recognize and celebrate the strides made by female artistes globally.”
This is not her first time setting such record. She was also the first female African artiste to reach 100 million streams in another music streaming platform – Audiomack.
In 2014, Simi broke into the musical industry in single, ‘Tiff’. Since then, she has released chart-topping songs and albums that have cemented her music in the hearts of Afrobeats lover worldwide.
