The Ray G TikToker Amon dispute has brought support and loyalty into focus in Uganda’s entertainment scene. The exchange unfolded in Mbarara City during a press conference for T. Paul’s upcoming concert at Kakyeka Stadium. The concert is scheduled for October 24, 2026.
The situation started with a TikTok video from Councillor Amon, who is known as the “Motor Mouth.” Amon appeared to express disappointment with an unnamed artiste over the support he had given over time. Although he did not name Ray G, some social media users connected the comments to him.
Amon also referred to himself as “Amon wa Ray G.” He spoke about his funeral wishes and said T. Paul was the artist he would want to speak to at his vigil. The comments added another personal layer to the conversation.

Ray G later addressed the matter during T. Paul’s press conference. He argued that professional engagements should remain professional once the agreed assignment has been completed. According to the singer, hiring an influencer or promoter for an event does not automatically create an expectation of permanent support.
Ray G also argued that influencers and entertainment bloggers should focus on informing audiences about current entertainment developments. He questioned the idea of using public platforms to complain about artists or expect continued financial support. His comments have since sparked discussion among entertainers and entertainment followers.
The disagreement has also raised questions about what happens when friendship and business overlap. An artist may work with a promoter or influencer professionally, while both parties may have different expectations about the relationship afterward. That distinction appears to sit at the center of the current disagreement.
