Oladips calls out Wizkid for copying his lyrics in Asake’s latest album ‘MMS’
Nigerian rapper Oladips has publicly called out Afrobeats superstar Wizkid over the alleged theft of his lyrics in Asake’s latest song.
The allegations surfaced in the wake of Wizkid’s collaboration on Asake’s newly released album, Lungu Boy.
Recall that Wizkid featured on Asake’s new album, “MMS,” where the Grammy-winning singer reflects on the loss of his late mother.
However, Oladips has claimed that Wizkid’s verse contains strikingly similar lines to his own previously released lyrics.
Oladips highlighted the issue by sharing screenshots of his 2022 single “Ajala Traveller” alongside Wizkid’s recent verse.
“I had to lose myself to find my purpose,” the words from Oladips’ 2022 single “Ajala Traveller” read.
Lyrics from Wizkid’s verse on Asake’s MMS says:
“Lost Myself, and I found my purpose.”
In a social media post accompanying the screenshots, Oladips questioned, “Recycling Or Coincidence @wizkidayo,” prompting a flurry of reactions from fans and followers.
