Ty Dolla $ign and KWN Set for WAV. Festival 2027 in SA
Big R&B energy is heading to South Africa. Ty Dolla $ign and KWN are set to headline WAV Festival 2027, and the dates are already out.
The second edition returns to Cape Town on 2 January. Then it makes its debut in Pretoria on 3 January at SunBet Arena.
What We Know About Ty Dolla $ign and KWN at WAV Festival

Ty Dolla $ign is a Grammy-nominated artist with more than a decade of music behind him. In 2026, he returned to a more intimate R&B sound with the EP girl music vol. 1. It features Brandy, Ronald Isley, and Leon Thomas.
Ty Dolla $ign moves easily between solo records, songwriting, and big collaborations. Meanwhile, KWN pairs her vocals with songwriting and production skills.

KWN is a singer, songwriter, and producer from East London. She blends classic R&B with a fresh, modern edge. Her June 2026 EP, and all pride aside, has 11 tracks about love, vulnerability, desire, and grief.
Why Ty Dolla $ign and KWN Make Sense Together

Notably, Ty Dolla $ign and KWN already share a song, since he appears on her EP. As a result, their joint South African shows carry an extra link. The pairing also gives fans two different chapters of modern R&B in one place.
This is the second edition of the festival, and it is growing. Cape Town returns, and then Pretoria joins the map for the first time.
For AfrobeatsGlobal readers, KWN adds a strong UK angle to the bill. Meanwhile, South African fans get an international night in two cities.
The festival is clearly positioning its second edition as a summer destination for R&B lovers. Keep an eye on the official WAV. Festival pages for lineup and ticket updates.
