Ghanaian star KiDi is not shy about his ambitions this award season, and honestly, his new album gives him plenty to point to. A day after releasing his third studio album, the singer sat down for an interview that touched on confidence, growth, and what comes after a decade of chasing dreams.
Between the bold TGMA prediction and the reflective new project, KiDi is clearly entering a fresh chapter with his eyes wide open. Here’s everything he shared.
KiDi Is Confident About Winning Artiste Of The Year Again
“I’m thinking everywhere because this is one of the questions that, no matter who you are, no matter what you do, you probably ask yourself at one point in your life,” he said.
“At every point in your life, when you achieve a milestone, that question keeps ringing: What happens from here? Where do we go from here? And that’s a very important question that we keep asking ourselves.”
“Especially, it’s been 10 years now; I’ve done it all. I’ve seen it all. Now, where does KiDi go?” he added.
“Even if I win Grammys. No matter what I achieve, no matter what I get, I’m always asking, ‘What next?’ I want more. The destination is always in a journey,” KiDi said.
There is no point in my life where I’m going to ever get to a place and say, ‘I have arrived’ or ‘I’ve done it all,’ he explained.
“I can and I will win Artist of the Year again. God’s time is the best, but I can and I will because I’m not doing all of this for the awards,” he stated.
Nicknamed “Sugardaddy,” KiDi told TV3 he is fully confident about winning the TGMA Artiste of the Year award again, saying plainly, “I can and I will.”
His recent releases, including “Babylon” and “Signature,” plus an upcoming concert, have set the stage for another strong TGMA campaign. Reflecting on a career now spanning 10 years, KiDi said the question of what comes next keeps returning at every milestone.

KiDi’s real name is Dennis Nana Kwaku Boadi Dwamena, and his new project, Where Do We Go From Here, is his third studio album, following Sugar (2019) and The Golden Boy (2021).
He said even winning a Grammy would not stop him from wanting more, adding, “The destination is always in a journey.” The album leans into themes of love, life, and existential reflection, with standout records like “Lonely” featuring AratheJay and “Crucified” featuring Kwesi Arthur.
Additionally, tracks like “Dreams” and “Confession” show a more vulnerable side of the artist. On growth, KiDi explained that he no longer worries about shaping how people perceive him, choosing instead to focus on being true to himself.

With the album out and a concert on the way, KiDi is fully focused on building momentum toward this year’s TGMA ceremony.
