Burna Boy Steals the Show at Drummer Manny’s Wedding

Burna Boy stole the spotlight at a wedding that was not even his own. The Burna Boy wedding speech for his longtime drummer Manny is already going viral. Additionally, guests say the Grammy winner had the entire room laughing within seconds.

Speaking in a mix of Pidgin and English, Burna Boy jokingly claimed credit for the entire relationship. He reminded guests that Manny once considered leaving secular music for gospel. Notably, Burna Boy asked the crowd whether the couple would have even met if Manny had quit the band.

“Na small thing dey vex me… have you asked them how they met? I’ve given myself the thanks because if not for me, they wouldn’t have met,” he said. 

“Manny, you said you wanted to dump music and go back to Jesus and Christianity? If you had quit music, would you and your wife have met?” Burna Boy asked the crowd. 

As a result, the room erupted into laughter throughout his address. He translated several lines into English so international guests could follow along. In fact, clips of the speech spread across social media within hours of the wedding.

Beyond the humor, Burna Boy also showed his softer side at the celebration. He danced with Manny‘s young daughter and posed for photos with the newlyweds. Meanwhile, his mother Bose Ogulu joined him in the celebration, adding a family touch to the day.
