The P-Square family feud has been simmering for years, but 2026 brought it fully into the open. Between an EFCC trial and Peter Okoye’s explosive tell-all video series, this saga keeps escalating. How It All Began: 2017 to 2021
P-Square, made up of twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, dominated Afrobeats from 2003 to 2017. Managed by their elder brother Jude Okoye through Northside Entertainment, the duo built a fortune worth over $150 million. However, tensions over royalties and financial transparency caused the group to disband in 2017.
A reunion followed in 2021, with fans celebrating what looked like a genuine reconciliation between the twins. According to Mr. P, though, the peace between him and Paul as brothers never actually meant reviving the group as a business.
The EFCC Case That Rocked the Family
In August 2023, Peter filed a petition accusing Jude and his wife of diverting funds into Northside Music Ltd.
That company, he claimed, was registered solely under Jude and his wife rather than the joint entity the brothers had agreed on. The EFCC investigation eventually led to Jude’s arraignment on February 26, 2025, facing seven counts of money laundering.
Prosecutors alleged the case involved roughly ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59 in suspicious transactions. Jude pleaded not guilty, and the case has continued moving through Nigeria’s Federal High Court since.
Mr P’s 2026 Tell All Series
This year, Mr. P began releasing a multi-part video series detailing what he says really happened behind closed doors. He claims the 2021 reunion meeting quickly turned into a business discussion he never agreed to.
According to him, Jude tried to reinstate himself as manager, sparking disagreements over a proposed 40-40-20 revenue split. Mr. P also alleges that catalog sale negotiations mysteriously fell apart after financial documents were shared with buyers.
In later installments, he alleged that Jude threatened him during a separate dispute over a U.S. property, a claim Jude has not directly addressed publicly.
