Tiwa Savage just clapped back at her critics, and she came with receipts. Tiwa Savage has addressed ongoing criticism about her choice of collaborators. She explained that she has worked with more female artists than most people realize. In fact, she says the real issue lies elsewhere.
According to Tiwa Savage, songs featuring female artists rarely get proper promotion. Meanwhile, her collaboration with Odumodublvck racked up millions of streams almost instantly. She pointed out the double standard, saying gatekeepers ignore her female-led projects.

Tiwa Savage recalled inviting Yemi Alade onto her show after fans pitted them against each other. Similarly, she made an entire song with Ayra Starr once comparisons started trending online. These moments, she says, prove she genuinely supports other women in the industry.
“I think people don’t know i am one female artiste who has featured most female colleagues over the years. From Waje to Ayra to Simi and others, but I observed that people don’t stream them like they would when I have Odumodu or any male artiste. I have tried it a couple of times but it didn’t work, so I stopped doing it.”
The comments have sparked wider conversation about visibility for female artists in Afrobeats. Many fans agree that promotion plays a bigger role than people admit. Others believe mutual effort from both sides could close the gap entirely. AfrobeatsGlobal will continue following how this conversation develops.
