Shatta Wale’s Open Letter On How To Improve The Ghana Music Industry

Ghanaian Dancehall/Highlife artiste, Shatta Wale, recently took to Social Media to share his concerns about the obstacles hindering the growth of the Ghana music industry on the global stage.

In his post, he emphasized the urgent need for action to address key issues that he believes are preventing major global music industries from investing in Ghana.

Highlighting the importance of immediate improvements, Shatta Wale focused on regulatory frameworks, modern infrastructure, and the strengthening of intellectual property rights and licensing.

He expressed, “The lack of conducive policies, infrastructure, and resources have hindered our growth and potential on the international stage.

We must urgently address this by improving regulatory frameworks, investing in modern infrastructure, and strengthening intellectual property rights and licensing.”

Shatta Wale called for unity among stakeholders in the Ghanaian music industry, urging collaboration to create an environment that attracts major global investments.

He stated, “It is time for us to work together to create an enabling environment that attracts major global investments and propels our music industry to unprecedented heights, contributing to our national identity and economy.”

Encouraging collaboration among stakeholders, Shatta Wale emphasized the need for collective efforts to ensure that Ghanaian music is heard globally.

Despite his call for industry improvement, he has faced criticism for his own role in the industry’s challenges, particularly related to his comments about fellow artists, pundits, and other stakeholders.
