Rihanna’s boyfriend, ASAP Rocky to face trial for allegedly shooting his childhood friend

Rakim Mayers, popularly known as ASAP Rocky, Rihanna’s boyfriend, has found himself at the centre of a legal tempest as he prepares to stand trial for the accused shooting of his boyhood buddy, Terell Ephron.

The incident, which occurred two years ago, was recently brought to light when a video of ASAP Rocky reportedly shooting Ephron with a pistol went viral.

On the second day of his hearing, it was announced that ASAP Rocky would go on trial for allegedly  shooting Ephron in the face during a brawl, resulting in minor injuries. The rapper entered a not guilty plea.

Rocky is currently charged with two crimes of assault with a firearm; if convicted, he faces up to ten years in prison.

The rapper and Ephron, who was a member of A$AP Mob and knew one other since they were in high school in New York, got into an argument that culminated in the allegations.

In a separate complaint, Ephron claims Asap Rocky took him to an undisclosed place outside the W Hotel in Hollywood on November 6, 2021, to settle a quarrel. He also claims he has been the subject of negligence, emotional discomfort, assault, and violence.

CCTV footage of the incident has gone viral, with some witnesses claiming to see Rakim pull out a gun and fire it.

However, ASAP Rocky’s legal team denies that he is the man in the video.

The music industry has seen the increase in fame of ASAP Rocky, who is currently in a relationship with music legend Rihanna.

The couple has two kids together. With the help of performers like Drake, the rapper rose to fame.
