Mr JazziQ Teams Up With Thesiix And Notable Artist For Katalia

South Africa’s stance on car culture is about to get its own anthem. Amapiano heavyweight Mr. JazziQ has teamed up with Thesiix, Don Deeya, Magwe, and Shazz RSA for an upcoming single called Katalia, and AfrobeatsGlobal has the details.

Katalia Blends Bujwa, Amapiano, And Street Culture

Set for release through ONErpm, Katalia centers on a woman who is loved and recognized in the streets. However, the concept stretches further, borrowing from stance culture, where a standout modified car can also be called a Katalia.

The record leans on Bujwa, the Amapiano subgenre pioneered by Thesiix, giving it a distinct rhythmic identity. Interestingly, the song was inspired by “Macarena” after Don Deeya heard it following Spain’s World Cup victory.

A Record Built On Several Firsts

Katalia marks several milestones for the collaborators. It will be Don Deeya’s first released record featuring a female artist, Shazz RSA’s debut in released Bujwa music, and Mr. JazziQ’s first Bujwa release overall.

“KATALIA is about the streets and the energy around them,” Mr. JazziQ explained. He added that the idea connects a well-loved figure in the streets to the culture surrounding modified cars, giving the name a bigger meaning than the song alone.

Stance Social Ties: The Concept Together

The single will also extend into Stance Social, Mr. JazziQ’s event built around Stance cars. The next edition lands in Johannesburg on November 7, 2026, connecting the record directly to the community that inspired part of its identity.
