Kunye Records Drops Oskido Collaboration Ahead of New EP
Kunye Records just delivered another exciting moment for Afro House fans across the continent. The label founded by South African star Shimza dropped a highly anticipated collaboration this week. AfrobeatsGlobal breaks down everything about the new Kunye Records Oskido Tiki Tiki release.
The single, titled “Tiki Tiki 2.0,” serves as the lead track from an upcoming EP reimagining the original “Tiki Tiki.” It features South African producer Oskido alongside Congolese-Angolan vocalist Salima Chica. Production credits go to Oskido, Argento Dust, and Bun Xapa.
Behind The Kunye Records Oskido Tiki Tiki Collaboration

According to the label, the song draws inspiration from the Lingala word “Tekita,” meaning to shake or tremble. It blends Central and Southern African musical influences within an Afro-house framework. Furthermore, the track combines rhythmic percussion, melodic vocals, and layered electronic elements throughout its runtime.
Oskido, co-founder of Kalawa Jazmee Records, described the project as a celebration of unity through music. “This project is about celebrating African unity through music,” he said. “‘Tiki Tiki 2.0’ brings together different cultures and sounds, showing how Afro House continues to evolve while staying rooted in our heritage.”
What To Expect From The Forthcoming EP
The upcoming EP will expand on the original “Tiki Tiki” by offering multiple versions of the track. These versions are designed specifically for clubs, festivals, and DJ sets across different settings. Additionally, this approach allows the song to reach different audiences depending on the performance context. It reflects a growing trend of adaptable, multi-format dance releases.
Kunye Records continues to position itself as a key player in promoting Afrohouse collaborations across Africa. The label consistently brings together artists from different regions and cultural backgrounds. Consequently, this release fits neatly into that broader mission the label has pursued since its founding. Fans of Afro House have come to expect this kind of cross-continental pairing from Kunye Records.
Oskido himself is a recipient of South Africa’s Order of Ikhamanga, recognizing his contributions to music. His involvement adds significant weight and credibility to this new single. Meanwhile, Salima Chica‘s vocal performance brings a distinct Central African flavor to the production. Together, their combined artistry creates a genuinely pan-African sound.
‘Tiki Tiki 2.0’ is now available across major streaming platforms for fans to enjoy. This release builds anticipation nicely for the fuller EP still to come. Therefore, dance music fans across the continent should keep an eye on Kunye Records for what follows next.
