Grammy Awards Confirm Plans For Afrobeats Category

 

The Recording Academy have confirm plans to include the afrobeats genre as part of its award categories for the Grammys awards.

The news was confirmed to the media by the CEO of the recording academy, Harvey Manson Jr. in Ghana.

The CEO explained to the media that they had just finished a virtual meeting with some of the biggest afrobeats artists, songwriters, producers, executives etc to discuss the different types of sub-genres under afrobeats and how best they can be represented in the next edition of the award show.

The CEO also explained that the members of the recording academy will send in a proposal for categories selected and then will be voted in by the board.
