Nigerian Afrobeats stars have dominated the arena’s African music story. However, South African electronic music has also made its mark, while upcoming concerts promise greater representation from other parts of the continent.

Here are six African artists with reported sold-out performances, alongside African stars scheduled to take the stage next.

African Artists Who Have Sold Out London’s O2 Arena

1. Wizkid

Wizkid made history on 26 May 2018 with his Afrorepublik concert, becoming the first Nigerian artist to sell out The O2. He returned in 2021 for three consecutive nights during the Made in Lagos era, further cementing his international status.

2. Davido

Davido followed with a sold-out headline concert on 27 January 2019. The show featured appearances from British actor Idris Elba and Jamaican artist Popcaan, highlighting the international connections surrounding his music.

3. Burna Boy

Burna Boy joined the list in August 2021. His headline performance marked another major achievement for Nigerian music, as his international profile continued to rise following the success of Twice as Tall and his Grammy win.

4. Asake

Asake has become one of the most consistent Nigerian artists at the venue. He sold out The O2 in August 2023 and returned for further sold-out performances in 2024 and October 2026.

His October 2026 concert marked his third reported sell-out at the arena, strengthening his position among Afrobeats’ most successful live performers.

5. Rema

Rema headlined The O2 on 14 November 2023, following the international success of Calm Down. The hit introduced his music to a wider global audience and helped establish him as one of the leading artists of Afrobeats’ younger generation.

6. Black Coffee

South African DJ and producer Black Coffee took African music beyond Afrobeats with his Live With Orchestra concert on 22 May 2026.

The sold-out performance combined his signature Afro-house sound with a live orchestra. Alicia Keys also made a surprise appearance. The milestone was reported as a first for a South African artist at the venue and a landmark for African electronic music.

African Artists With Upcoming O2 Arena Shows

The list could grow as more African musicians bring their music to London.

Fally Ipupa: Democratic Republic of the Congo

Congolese star Fally Ipupa is scheduled to perform at The O2 on 24 and 25 October 2026. The venue lists the 25 October concert as sold out, while tickets remain listed for 24 October. Both shows are upcoming as of 19 October 2026.

His concerts bring Congolese music, including rumba and soukous influences, to one of London’s biggest stages.

Sarkodie: Ghana

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie is scheduled to bring Rapperholic UK to The O2 on 6 March 2027. The concert will coincide with the 70th anniversary of Ghana’s independence. Olamide: Nigeria

Olamide is scheduled to headline The O2 on 25 March 2027. The concert will be the biggest London headline show of his career, bringing his catalogue of street-pop and Afrobeats hits to the arena.
