Cassper Nyovest Scorpion Kings moment
The Cassper Nyovest Scorpion Kings conversation comes after a huge night at FNB Stadium. DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small brought their Scorpion Kings Live 2026 show to Johannesburg on September 19. More than 74,000 fans attended the event.
The concert featured more than 70 performers across the night. It placed Amapiano at the center of a large-scale South African music event while bringing together different parts of the country’s music scene.

Cassper’s comments are also notable because of his own history with stadium concerts. His Fill Up series began in 2015, when he became the first local headliner to fill the then 20,000-capacity Ticketpro Dome. He later took the series to Orlando Stadium before staging Fill Up FNB Stadium in 2017.

There is a wider story behind the exchange. DJ Maphorisa has previously acknowledged Cassper’s influence on the growth of large-scale stadium concerts in South Africa. Now, Cassper has publicly recognized the Scorpion Kings after they brought their own movement to FNB Stadium.
The Scorpion Kings’ latest show was also not their first major stadium event. The duo previously staged a sold-out show at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in August 2025, building on their live performance history.
Meanwhile, the FNB Stadium show was built around Amapiano, culture, and the wider South African music community. Additional reporting ahead of the event showed that more than 70,000 people were expected, with a lineup spanning Amapiano, Afro soul, hip hop, and other sounds.
