Wiz Kid’s “Made In Lagos” Sells Over 500,000 Units In U.S
Nigerian music icon Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wiz Kid has his “Made In Lagos” album sell over 500,000 units in the U.S.
Wiz Kid has been on a record breaking run since the release of his third studio album. Hit single “Essence” top charts in Africa and Worldwide, widely recognized as the song of the summer in 2021.
What was more impressive was how well “Made In Lagos” and “Essence” especially did in the United States. It wasn’t common for African acts to take over the American air wave like “Essence” did.

News surfaced in social media that “Made In Lagos” had officially sold over 500,000 units in the U.S. Making Starboy’s third solo album eligible for a gold plaque in the United States. This is the first time an African artist has achieved such fit. Wiz kid is also the best selling african act of all time.
Wizkid’s Made In Lagos has become the first African album to hit 500,000 sales in USA, making it the first African album to be eligible for Gold in USA.
Wizkid is the best selling African Artiste of All Time with over 40 million career sales.
