“Make una no vex” – Portable Apologizes To Headies (Video)

Controversial Nigerian street-hop artiste, Portable, has finally tendered an apology to Headies. It came after he was disqualified on Tuesday as a nominee for the 2022 Headies Awards.

The reasons for his disqualification were made known by the organizers of the Headies, through a statement posted on the official Hiptv social media accounts. It read:

“We regret to announce that following numerous indicting statements made by Mr. Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as ‘Portable’, and the incessant negative attention that Mr Okikiola has garnered from the Nigeria Police and the general public in recent times, the organizers of the Headies have resolved to disqualify Mr Okikiola as a nominee at the forthcoming 15th Headies Awards.”

His final disqualification came after previous warnings from the award’s organizers. Recall that on the 25th of May, Portable had threatened to kill his fellow Headies nominees. However, he apologized quickly, following backlash from the public and threats of disqualification from the Headies. A few months later, the singer was summoned by the police, for claiming that he established two of the most infamous cult groups in Lagos. Like before, he took to his Instagram account to clarify his claims.
