OSCAR AWARDS 2023: Tems Loses Out On Oscar Award

Nigerian singer and songwriter Tems lost in her award category at the 95th edition of the Academy Awards also known as “The Oscars”.

She received a nomination in the “Best Original Song” category alongside Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna and Ryan Coogler who all contributed to the song “Lift Me Up”.

”Lift Me Up” is the official soundtrack for Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, written by Tems, Ludwig Göransson, Ryan Coogler and performed by Rihanna.

Other nominees in the category include ‘Applause’ (Diane Warren), ‘Hold My Hand’ (Lady Gaga, BloodPop), ‘Naatu Naatu’ (MM Keeravaani, Chandrabose), and ‘This Is A Life’ (Ryan Lott, David Byrne, Mitski)

Naatu Naatu” won the Academy Award for ‘Best Original Song’ at the 2023 Oscars. The song is from the Indian blockbuster ‘RRR’, written by composer M.M. Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose.
