Although Puerto Rican singer, Bad Bunny, topped the nominations list with eight nods, he only received two awards. Lionel Richie, was awarded with the Icon Award for his lifetime achievements and contributions to the music industry. The 17-time AMA winner became the only artist ever to take the AMAs stage in every decade since the show’s inception. However, the real tribute was a heartfelt performance for Richie by Ari Lennox, Charlie Puth, Stevie Wonder, and other artists.
